What’s Included in Our Custom Window Shades Service
When you hire Monroe Plantation Shutter Pros, you get a complete service from measurement to installation. We do not hand you a catalog and leave you to figure it out. Every step is handled by our team so the finished product looks and works exactly the way you expected.
Precise In-Home Window Measuring
Accurate measuring is the foundation of any well-fitted shade. Our specialist measures each window opening carefully, accounting for depth, trim, and any obstructions that could affect how the shade sits. Getting this right the first time avoids gaps, light leaks, and shades that bind or bunch.
Fabric, Style, and Smart Feature Selection
We carry solar shades, roller shades, Roman shades, cellular shades, and integrated automation and motorization features across all styles and brands in dozens of fabrics and opacities. Our specialist helps you match the right material and controls to the room’s purpose, whether you need a blackout shade for a bedroom or a motorized, light-filtering solar shade for a living room that gets afternoon sun. You see real samples in your actual lighting before anything is ordered.
Professional Installation and Hardware
Once your shades arrive, our installers mount them cleanly and level every bracket. We test each shade for smooth operation and make any needed adjustments on the spot. The finished result is a polished look with no visible gaps, crooked rails, or sloppy hardware.

When Do Athens Homes Need New Custom Window Shades?
Many Athens homeowners live with window coverings that are faded, ill-fitting, or simply not doing the job they need them to do. There are a few clear situations where upgrading to custom window shades makes an obvious difference.
Older Homes with Non-Standard Window Sizes
Many homes near downtown Athens and in historic neighborhoods have windows that do not match any standard size sold off the shelf. Older double-hung windows with thick original trim, or arched windows added during renovations, require a custom solution across all styles and brands. Off-the-shelf shades leave gaps that let in light and reduce privacy.
Rooms with Excessive Heat or Glare
Athens summers are long and hot, and west-facing rooms can become uncomfortably bright. Solar shades and cellular shades paired with automation and motorization features allow you to automatically lower your shades during peak sun hours to reduce heat gain and block UV rays without eliminating your view. Homeowners in areas like Bogart and Watkinsville who deal with open, sun-exposed lots often see an immediate improvement in energy efficiency and comfort after installation.
New Construction or Recent Renovations
Builders typically leave window treatments out of the project scope, which means newly built homes in communities around Braselton, Hoschton, and Snellville often sit with bare windows for months after move-in. Custom shades equipped with modern automation and motorization features are the fastest way to add instant privacy, smart home convenience, and a complete look that coordinates with your design choices.
If any of these situations sound familiar, it is worth getting a professional opinion before settling for something that does not quite work.

Call or message us to set up a time that works for you. We come to your Athens home, bring samples, and take a look at your windows in person. There is no charge for the consultation and no obligation to buy.
Assess Your Windows and Design Preferences
During the visit, we measure every window you want covered and walk through your style and function priorities.
