What’s Included in Our Custom Roller Shades Service
When you hire Monroe Plantation Shutter Pros for custom roller shades, you get more than just a product. You get a complete service from initial design consultation through professional installation and final inspection.
Precision Window Measuring
Getting the measurement right is the single most important step in any custom window treatment project. Our specialist takes detailed measurements of each window opening, accounting for inside or outside mount preferences, window depth, and any obstructions. This is handled through our perfect fit window measuring service to guarantee every shade fits exactly as intended.
Custom Fabric and Design Selection
We carry a broad range of roller shade fabrics, from sheer solar screens that filter harsh afternoon sun to full blackout materials ideal for bedrooms and media rooms. Our design specialist brings samples to your Athens home so you can compare fabrics and colors in your actual lighting. We help you balance privacy, light control, and visual style in one cohesive choice.
Professional Installation and Finishing
Our installer mounts every shade cleanly, levels each bracket, and tests the operation before considering the job complete. Roller shades are installed to operate smoothly on the first pull and every pull after that. The finished result is a clean, polished look that makes your windows feel intentional and designed, not just covered. Contact us today to get started on your window project.
When Do Athens Homes Need Custom Roller Shades?
Athens homeowners reach out to us for roller shades in several common situations. Sometimes it is a new home that needs window treatments from scratch. Other times it is older coverings that have worn out or simply stopped working with the room’s updated look.
Glare and Heat from Georgia Sun
Georgia summers push a lot of direct sunlight through south and west-facing windows, making rooms uncomfortably bright and hot during peak afternoon hours. Solar roller shades are specifically designed to block glare and reduce heat gain without blocking the view entirely. For Athens homes without shade trees or with large picture windows, this upgrade makes a noticeable difference in comfort and energy costs.
Privacy Needs in Older Neighborhoods
Many of the older neighborhoods near downtown Athens, Five Points, and Boulevard have homes situated close to sidewalks and neighboring properties. Standard curtains can feel heavy and block too much light, while no coverage leaves residents feeling exposed. A light-filtering roller shade gives homeowners the privacy they need without darkening the room during the day.
Updating a Newly Renovated or Purchased Home
Buyers moving into homes in areas like Watkinsville, Bogart, or North High Shoals often find that the previous owners left behind dated or mismatched window treatments. Custom roller shades are a clean, modern starting point that works with virtually any decor direction. Pairing them with custom plantation shutters in key rooms creates a layered, high-end look throughout the home.
If any of these situations sound familiar, it is worth scheduling a consultation before another Georgia summer arrives.
